Hi guys, kinda of a long shot but I've been living in Nijmegen for a few months now and yet I've met to meet any geeky like minded friends to hang out with (you know watch some animé and play videogames ) soooo after googling intensively the words "anime nijmegen" I've magically stumbled upon here and thought I would at least say hi My dutch is nowhere near good enough to converse with people but if someone might want to chat in "Engels" then I'm happy to oblige

I don't mind to chat with you, but I don't live in Nijmegen. So we can chat through Skype because I really like writing/talking English. And perhaps we meet someday on a dutch convention. That being said, people here oragnise a lot of meets as well. There might be one near nijmegen(if not now, there will be one in the near future) I think:p

Since it's Nijmegen, I'm guessing studies?
I go to the Radboud University in Nijmegen, so though I don't live there, I spend a lot of time there.
It's a good thing most people here speak English reasonably, especially the younger generations. I, for one, speak English better than Dutch, and I was born and raised here!

You might also want to consider going to conventions. At meetings, I think you'll miss a lot, because Dutch people tend to speak Dutch to each other, even if they do speak English to you. But Abunai!con, for one, has a website in English to attract people from abroad as well as Dutch people.

Favourite animé huh? hmmm i have so many but if I had to pick my very favourites i would have to say, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Amazing!), Gurren Lagaan (over the top mecha action! ), Code Geass (Need to rewatch these as ive forgotten most of the plot....except that it was really good ) also Inazuma Eleven is my guilty pleasure (Kids anime about football but its so over the top and amazing XD)

Currently im watching Shingeki no Kyoujin (Attack on Titan) and really enjoying it Also finished watching Sword Art Online which was very good

I LOVE code geass and FMA!!
And many others, but those two are definitely among my tot 10, Code Geass at the top.

Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) is also one of my favorite. It stands in my top 3.
At the moment I'm watching Code Geass. I sometimes find it hard to follow.
Also, I'm going to watch Sword Art Online very soon.

By the way, you didn't answered EveningBird question which I'm also curious about. Do you cosplay?
At the moment I'm working on a own created Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) character which I named Florence Quinn.
She is from Creta which lies South-West from Amestris and met Edward on his journey after Brotherhood.

I have cosplayed in the past but only a couple times and not as anything really well done Would be nice to do it some more...but I'm slightly anxious about it when it comes to walking around a city like that....as much as i would love to cosplay Hughes from FMA and think i could totally pull it off! (especially as i now have an awesome beard )

YESSSS do cosplay Hughes. I'm a roy mustang cosplayer myself and if you do cosplay Huges, I really need a picture with you!!
If you walk around alone in cosplay, people tend to cast you weird looks, but if you're in a group, they often think it's a bachelor party. In any case, don't worry about what people say, if they would condemn you for what you wear, they're idiots anyway.

Haha yeah of course your right, just slightly out of my comfort zone but then again i have been trying to push myself into doing new things that are uncomfortable

Why do you force yourself to do things that make you uncomfortable? You don't have to cosplay in public to belong in this little world of ours... If you don't want to cosplay in public, just do it on conventions, and if that makes you uncomfortable as well, why not be a cosplay photographer or just another con-goer who just enjoys looking at the cosplays and merchandise?

Well I might find it uncomfortable but I still think it would be fun and something I'd like to do one day so its good to push myself sometimes, im too anxious about alot of things
