What better way to kick off the CAMERA JAPAN festival than with vocalist Damo Suzuki, who, might we add, used to be the vocalist for krautrock legends CAN! Damo will team up for an exclusive jam with a line up of today's celebrated Japanese underground artists, all of whom will also be playing solo sets. Last minute update: the improvised band with Damo will be backed up by a talented drummer for this occasion. The breaks between sets will be glued together by Ukikusa Hikaru.
DAMO SUZUKI Former singer of Can, one of the most influential bands of the last century. DJ SCOTCH BONNET Shigeru Ishihara aka dj Scotch Egg recently wowed crowds with Drum Eyes and Devilman. He worked with Bo Ningen’s Taigen Kawabe and played bass in the reformed electronic pioneers Seefeel. IKU SAKAN In his textured music, Iku Sakan searches for soulful moments from soulless materials through a constantly shifting collection of sound sources, melding improvisation and dj'ing practices.
